Events and Programs

Racing

The Club holds Saturday open class races starting in June and ending with the opening of the Great Provincetown Schooner Regatta which takes place between Labor Day weekend and the following Saturday every year.  All sailors are welcome.  For more information, or to participate, simply contact the Commodore.

Youth Racing

The West End Racing Club, located at 87 Commercial Street, is a non-profit sailing club for children ages 8 to 14.  The Club provides lessons and equipment for a seasonal registration fee of $50 and is open to Provincetown residents as well as visitors.

A beach counselor is on duty at all times and regular hours are from 9am to noon, then 1pm to 4pm weekdays in July and August.

Children learn basic boating skills, water safety and sailing in Sunfish and Rhodes 19’s.  Racing takes place almost daily during the summer months.  For more information, simply contact the Vice Commodore.  (should be a link to vicecommodore@provincetownyachtclub.org.)

Education

The Club encourages members to attend and posts dates for Coast Guard endorsed training and education courses in navigation, boat and water safety, and other topics.

In addition, the Club holds “Tune-Up” clinics, Sailing Education and Sailboat Racing Clinics from time to time.  See our Club Calendar for scheduled events.
